    Event Description:
    Join Meghan Boehmer, historical interpreter with the Boston Tea Party Ship and Museum, for this special living history program at the Jeremiah Lee Mansion. Boehmer will portray Sarah Griste Mugford, wife of James Mugford, the wife of Revolutionary naval hero James Mugford. Boehmer will illustrate the role of women during the Revolution, and visitors will discover how Sarah took charge of her life as a young widow after Mugford’s death in 1776, at a time when a woman’s sphere was limited to home and family. This program is FREE. It is presented as part of Essex National Heritage Area's annual Trails and Sails program.
