In the 1830s, poverty and homelessness were an epidemic. In this free living history program at the Jeremiah Lee Mansion, Meghan Boehmer will portray a Marblehead woman, who, having lost her husband and income, finds no alternative but to go to the poor farm with her young children. Hear about how Marblehead helped to care for the poor and vulnerable working class citizens. This program is sponsored by the Marblehead Cultural Council.
