Drawing the Line Instructor: Cat Bennett Ages 16 +/Adult Saturday, Nov. 10th, 10am-1pm Fee: $65 Everyone can draw! In this workshop we’ll explore drawing with line as a way to get really fluid with our hand, see our own special gifts and free our visual creativity. We’ll start by drawing in an abstract way then make contour and blind contour drawings of plants and flowers, first in one color then using as many colors as we like. We’ll experiment with simple materials like crayons, pastels and markers. We’ll learn some basic drawing techniques and how to refine the skills we already have. You’ll get a chance to try things out, think creatively and learn how mistakes can lead us forward! Bring your creative spirit and expect to have fun! All materials are provided and all skill levels are welcome! BIO: Cat Bennett is an artist and the author of 3 books on drawing and creativity. Her book The Confident Creative was a 2011 gold medal winner in The Nautilus Book Awards. She was an illustrator for major newspapers and publishers for over 25 years and also made short animations films for CBC-Sesame Street and Nickelodeon-TV. She has taught drawing to adults for the last 12 years and led drawing and creativity workshops in Europe and the US. She is also a creative coach.
