Fall Festival has become
Spirit Days!
Saturday, Sept. 22 & Sunday, Sept. 23
The Marblehead Chamber of Commerce Community Events Committee is implementing an exciting change to our annual community events schedule. On September 22 & 23, 2012, the Town of Marblehead will celebrate Spirit Days in lieu of Fall Festival. This change has come about due to an overwhelming desire to celebrate Marblehead’s business community, school groups, non-profits, and of course, local individuals that are world recognized for their achievements. As summer comes to an end and the school year is gearing up, the Committee feels that this hometown celebration will be a great opportunity to promote our offerings to residents and visitors and will be a better fit than our previous early fall event.
Here are some activities and events that you can expect at this year’s Spirit Days:
- Town-wide Sidewalk Sales All Weekend long! The Town of Marblehead has granted permission for our Marblehead merchants to conduct a Town-wide Sidewalk Sale on Saturday & Sunday, September 22 & 23, 2012. Visit the downtown business district and enjoy sales, promotions, raffles, giveaways, refreshments, and more.
- School Groups and Non-profit Groups will be paired with our participating businesses throughout the weekend. You can have a chance to learn about their good works, get involved in their initiatives, and donate to their causes.
- Marblehead Celebrates her 2012 Olympians - Marblehead will celebrate her 2012 London Olympians on Sunday, September 23, 2012 at 1:00pm at Abbot Hall, 188 Washington Street. Come meet Kayla Harrison, Gold Medalist in Judo and Sara Hendershot, ranked 4th in Rowing, Women’s Pair. This event is free and open to the public. Sponsored by the Marblehead Forever Committee. For additional information about this event component, call 781-631-0000.
- “Keep It Local” Scavenger Hunt – Join us for an exciting scavenger hunt throughout town, including photo identifiers and trivia questions. Entry is FREE. Entry forms will be available by Friday, September 21, 2012 at the Marblehead Chamber of Commerce Information Booth. The completed entry form must be returned to the Chamber of Commerce Information Booth or at our administrative offices by 5pm on Friday, September 28, 2012. This weeklong contest will give participants a chance to explore our business community through shopping, dining, and visiting our area galleries, museums and attractions. Submitted forms will be tallied at the conclusion of the event, and gift certificates from participating businesses will be awarded the week of October 1, 2012.
